Angela Marie Bergmann
Geek, Wife, & Gamer

35534_10152558856365697_1161548937_nMy name’s Angela, obviously. I’m 31 years old and I currently reside in Stow, Ohio with my husband Bill, brother Joe, and our plethora of pets.

My hobbies revolve around RPG’s & MMORPG’s, reading, web design, and cooking. I have an unhealthy obsession with star and heart shaped objects, caffeinated beverages, and Hello Kitty. I’m pierced and tattooed, Libertarian, and I bring home the bacon as the Web Services Manager at a local IT company.

I am what’s considered an adult orphan. I lost my Mom suddenly to a heart attack when I was 13 years old, and my Dad when I was 26 after a 6 month struggle with strokes and emphysema.  I’ve learned how to cope very well.

The biggest lesson I have learned in life is to never take anything for granted, and to live each day like it’s your last.

I have the most amazing husband. We met on Craigslist, when I answered a personal ad he put up that said “Looking for a girl that plays WoW. Preferably ambulatory”. I thought it was funny, and I played WoW, so I e-mailed him. 2 weeks later we met in person. He asked me to be his girlfriend a day later on September 6, 2008. I never left his apartment again (literally). He proposed to me on March 14, 2009 at my birthday dinner. On September 9, 2009 (09/09/09) I married him and went from being a Jones to a Bergmann. It was without a doubt the happiest day of my life.

I’ve been struggling with infertility for going on 7 years. My ex-fiance and I tried for around 2 years, and my husband and I have now been trying for around 5 years. I am currently undergoing treatment with a reproductive endocrinologist, as I have health coverage and it at least covers basic office visits, blood-work,  ultrasounds, and some medication. Test results so far have shown a clear HSG, slightly elevated testosterone, and nothing else. I had my first ever natural BFP on May 6, 2013. I lost that pregnancy on May 16, 2013 at 5 weeks 4 days. I underwent a D&C and laparoscopy where I lost my left fallopian tube due to scar tissue and an ectopic pregnancy. From the sound of it, I have fairly extensive endometriosis in my abdomen. Currently waiting for the follow up with my OB and RE in late May and early June to see what my options will be.

History, Credit, & Design

This has been my home on and off for a number of years. While I have had my blog in other places (chemical-karma.org, 5tar.net, starry.nu, am-fem.com), radkitten is where it belongs. I have a long history with web design and personal blogging going back to 1999 and Angelfire. I first started truly blogging in 2001. While I’m not much of a designer, I am a pretty decent code monkey.
